Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what you can and can't do with PaedVault and its Content, and how we protect Content from unauthorised copying. It supplements our Terms of Service.

1. What you can do

  • Use PaedVault for your own personal MRCPCH revision, for as long as your account is active or on the free tier.
  • Flag, favourite, and add private notes to questions.
  • Report questions you believe contain an error.
  • Read study content on any device, in a standard web browser.

2. What you can't do

  • Copy, screenshot, print, or otherwise extract question text, options, explanations, or study notes.
  • Use browser extensions, scraping tools, bots, or scripts to bulk-extract Content.
  • Share your login, or Content you've accessed, with anyone who doesn't hold their own PaedVault subscription.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with our copy-protection, watermarking, or rate-limiting measures.
  • Use Content to build, train, or evaluate a competing product, including AI/ML models.
  • Access PaedVault through more accounts, or more concurrent sessions, than reasonable individual use requires.

3. How we protect content

PaedVault content is technically protected, including but not limited to:

  • Selection, copy, and right-click are disabled across the app.
  • Printing the app produces a blocked page rather than Content.
  • Free-tier pages carry a visible, low-opacity watermark identifying the account viewing them.
  • Question and study content is served from our servers only after checking that your account is entitled to see it — locked content is never sent to your browser in the first place, so there is nothing to inspect or extract by technical means.
  • Requests for question content are rate-limited per account, and unusual access patterns (for example, a very high volume of distinct questions requested in a short period) are logged for review.

These measures are designed to stop casual and bulk copying. No technical measure can prevent someone from photographing their own screen; the rules in Section 2 apply regardless of whether a technical measure could have stopped a particular action.

4. Enforcement

We may investigate accounts flagged by our anomaly detection or reported to us. Where we find a genuine breach of this policy, we may, depending on severity: issue a warning, suspend access to the relevant exam, or terminate the account, without refund of any unused subscription period. We aim to avoid disrupting genuine revision use — a single unusual session is very unlikely to result in any account action on its own.
